I'm confused, wasn't that already the case ? Was a mod saving my butt this whole time and I didn't realize it ?
(can we use lighters and matches that are favorited, by the same logic ?)
...I'm trying to understand how that is different from this :
...They did that ?!
Oh wait, I don't care. I've disabled looted buildings XD
BTW in case you haven't clicked the official post I linked earlier, here's the MP trailer in all its glory.
"All police vehicles will have a HAM radio... makes sense, they are pigs".
I didn't see that one coming XD
It pisses me off to no end that some players have sh*tty expectations about PZ's features.
"I wish there was an end goal"
"Will there ever be a story mode ?"
"If only we could have families"
That's not the game ! You're missing the whole point !
1/ An end goal other than death would be a happy ending, and PZ isn't about that, it literally tells you that the only ending is to die.
2/ A story mode goes against everything PZ stands for. Quests ? Objectives ? You're in the wrong game, baby !
3/ I know we all like to joke about "The Sims with zombies", but come on. Everything about that game's lore is telling you that the world is ending. You're not going to be the survivor who repopulates the Earth. You're witnessing the end times.
Felt too cool not to mention : I have officially reached 1000 hours in PZ since I bought it on Steam.
Which means at least 1100 hours overall since I started this thread... last May.
I don't think I can call myself a newbie anymore.
Beside the cute puns and game references, this doesn't feel very meaty, but we're at the very least getting the confirmation that B42 is getting stable "soon". I'm starting to understand that this word does not always have the same meaning for players and for devs in this community, so let's wait and see. Personally I'm in hurry, I don't really mind starting a new save with every update, and I don't mind how long a version takes...

...but, I will say that lately I've tried to get familiarized with modding tools for PZ, you know, just to get a lay of the land, and I'm looking forward to updated TileZed/WorldZed for B42 because I have a couple of ideas for maps, and they kinda feel... doable ?
I don't know, I might be speaking too soon, I've only started creating buildings and looked at the first steps to create maps. Maybe some stuff later on is too complicated for code-illiterate me. But I'm intrigued.
I've always wanted to mod for ARK. I have documents going back almost 10 years now, schematics, lists, files upon files upon files. There may or may not be several advanced drawings of the map's biomes and POIs, you'll never know. The only thing that has ever been missing has been... a computer that can run the devkit.
My current computer, however, can absolutely handle TileZed and WorldZed, so um, yeah. Finally I can try my hand at designing environments for a game I like.
Oh actually I forgot that TIS is on Mastodon (although it is impossible to link a Mastodon account to an account on theindiestone.com, go figure).

So just in case I'll leave this here 😇
TIS devs seem to want to move a lot of things to right click submenus in B42, for instance it used to be possible to lock a door by right clicking it, and now you have to right click then find the option under the "door" submenu... which is fine if you're not pressed by time, but it's PZ, time is...

"I have a couple of ideas for maps"
Map expansions, specifically. I don't really want to create entire cities (...yet ?), but I want to expand places I like but that feel a bit lacking. Some places already have mods for that (though mostly in B41), like March Ridge for instance is pretty clearly a town few people visit without mods other than for its annotated map, but others don't.
I want to expand Echo Creek, for instance :)

Stuff like that is why that game made me its b*tch.
This is incredible. I've never had that much success in under a month.
And by the way this screenshot was taken a few ingame days ago ; I have now killed over 300 zombies (which I know because I have a mod that rewards me with a new positive trait or removes a negative trait every 100 kills and this has already happened 3 times). I am normally not there until the 2nd month.
Holy sh*t I'm on a roll.
I'm gonna miss that save when next week's update breaks it.
