Here is a very disturbing article on #longtermism. It made me realize my main problem with the argument - adding to the monstrosity of the idea itself.

The #nonSequitur is that they implicitly assume that you can assign a value to a not yet existing ‚digital person‘.
That is where they lost me. It’s goes so much further than the nonsense that anti-#birthContol zealots produce.

And there is so much more #bullshit behind that leap of faith.

So now I’m more convinced than ever that the billionaires promoting this just use it as a cheap moral sounding excuse not to respect actually living people.

@iamlayer8 There are some who do believe this is even possible and thus that longtermism or whatever is the correct outlook. They're delusional.
