Here is a very disturbing article on #longtermism. It made me realize my main problem with the argument - adding to the monstrosity of the idea itself.

„Longtermism is […], which asserts that there could be so many digital people living in vast computer simulations millions or billions of years in the future that one of our most important moral obligations today is to take actions that ensure as many of these digital people come into existence as possible.“

#TESCREAL

The #nonSequitur is that they implicitly assume that you can assign a value to a not yet existing ‚digital person‘.
That is where they lost me. It’s goes so much further than the nonsense that anti-#birthContol zealots produce.

And there is so much more #bullshit behind that leap of faith.

So now I’m more convinced than ever that the billionaires promoting this just use it as a cheap moral sounding excuse not to respect actually living people.

@iamlayer8 There are some who do believe this is even possible and thus that longtermism or whatever is the correct outlook. They're delusional.

@iamlayer8

I agree. Apart from the *actually delusional* tescrealists (re the "grand plan" to seed space with their DNA), i imagine it's more a cover story for climate-purging most of the world's population. In the literature, they refer to us as "useless feeders".

Btw, Epstein evidence incl that he was spreading his "superior DNA" via forced pregnancies with girls he kept enslaved on his ranch.

The billionaires' eugenics project: how Epstein infiltrated Harvard, muzzled the humanities and preached master-race science

Edge - Jeffrey Epstein's favourite intellectual salon - was sold to me as a gathering of the world's finest minds, writes Virginia Heffernan. The files reveal it was something far darker: a decades-long project that cloaked eugenics, race science and sexual misconduct in Ivy League respectability

@DrALJONES Yep, I heard about that. Wretched. @iamlayer8
