While Putin's soldiers are using horses in Ukraine, and some videos show them running out of supplies, Mark Carney says Canada is sending another 2 billion in aid to the Ukrainian soldiers plus another 400 armored vehicles.

Will 2026 be the year Putin loses the war? I find that increasingly likely.

@randahl There's a reason that the top 10 MLB teams who spend the most payroll on players, have a better chance at winning a World Series title.
Keep the spend focused on Team Ukraine.
@Nead @randahl #Ukraine's "allies" are not contributing any players. At best they are sending replacement bats and gloves.
@randahl Let's make it happen!
@randahl Unlikely. Putin has a near infinite number of human meat at his disposal and he has no regrets sacrificing them. This year will see another mobilisation in Russia, to send even more men into the meat grinder.

@lbcp I don't buy that. Russia is already very stretched in terms of able-bodied people who can contribute to the economy. There is a limit to what Putin can mobilise. Putin is also very aware of Russia's history with past wars and how unpopular and destabilising mobilisations have been.

@randahl

@luminos @randahl I hope you are right. I think, though, that they are playing their endgame. They may lose their power if the Russians rise up due to the mobilisation.
They'll surely lose their power if Russia loses the war.
Thus, for Putin and his goons it's either victory or death and they will cling to their power at all costs. Even if that means destroying Russia.
@lbcp That used to be the case. In the first two months of this year, the numbers of recruits is lower than the number of soldiers being un-alived or unable to fight. Of course, Putin could start a new mobilization wave, but that led to a massive emmigration last time and they need the work force for making weapons.
@randahl
I hope so the Ukrainians deserve to win. Putin is the aggressor & he must fail!
@randahl I will go on alongside your optimism. Keep hope high 💪
