Who out there is using mailcow? How is well is it catching spams?

#mail #email #selfhosted #mailcow #boost

@ryan Is mailcow still a thing? I personally prefer `rspamd`
@ryan Using it for about 2 years now. Spam detection depends on your configuration. For me it works very well.
@christian thanks. Curious what you mean by configuration. When I initially played with it, I was getting some false positives when testing certain spam emails. What did you configure,

@ryan I don’t use mailcow but I believe it uses rspamd internally, which is what I use.

I have had good success with it. It seems to be about as effective as anything else I’ve found out there, including the commercial offerings from google/outlook/fastmail/etc.

@ryan we do have it on low detection level to not miss important mails but it feels like it is not catching that much
Maybe half the Spam not detected as a wild guess?
rspamd says 50% no action, 20% reject, 17% soft reject (greylisted), 13% add spam header
(from a total of 500 entries/mails this week)
@clemens what is low detection level?
@ryan i thought there was a low/medium/high setting but this was maybe in an older version or somewhere else. Its just the default settings (flag with score above 8 and reject above 15)
