I second this idea!
@georgetakei Also they should adopt best practice from other countries: Instead of the government hosting these press conferences, the press should invite. Small, but import shift in who sets the rules.
@georgetakei
ahem, we do not have a press corp at the White House anymore. It's been replaced with card-carryihg sycophants and water carriers for this lawless administration
@georgetakei Fox news would break the ranks. Unfortunately.
@georgetakei Won't work. Not in the 2026 dog eat dog world.
@georgetakei This has been a recurring bit on Paula Poundstone's podcast.
@georgetakei apparently public television in the Netherlands prefaces every quote and speech from Trump with the phrase “he tells many lies”. In other words they cannot vouch for the veracity of anything he says, which is a very wise comment to make.
Edit: I haven’t been able to verify this so treat with caution.

The Dutch version of the BBC (very simply put) has started consistently stating in every article about Trump that he has a history of lying and saying nonsense. It's really satisfying. "President Trump, who often lies, said that..." It's a small thing, but it cheers me up.

@peterbrown @georgetakei I would love to see that on an actual URL before I give it the high five it deserves.
@georgetakei They are so ridiculously soft on him. He rapes kids FFS.
@georgetakei Kind of like Robert’ Rules of Order but the inverse.
@georgetakei For that you need journalism, and courage, and principles. These people don't have any of that. The ones that do retired, or left for independent media (e.g. Lemon, Karem, and Acosta)

Here is a modest proposal for the White House press corps: Stand together. No one should ask another question until the President answers the question that was ignored.

@georgetakei @briankrebs This phrasing requires unanimity. Here’s one that doesn’t: Repeat the question!
@chazh My thought exactly. Next reporter repeats exact same question, word for word, then the next and so on ... @georgetakei @briankrebs
@georgetakei I doubt any if them has the balls.
@georgetakei
I want to hear reporters say: "Can you answer my question without saying 'but'"?
@georgetakei Is anyone allowed in there who isn't a sycophant, though? I thought he banned everyone else.
@georgetakei The question that was ignored: "Where are the Epstein Files?"
@georgetakei I have no idea why they bother asking. Just make stuff up like some news media do

@georgetakei

Or the journalists work together - the next one asks exactly the sanme question if it wasn't answered when previously asked.
