This morning I was given notice of redundancy - my last day is this Friday. The school I work for is closing my department

I’ve worked there for 15 years & the current teaching staff is the best I’ve ever seen. Just outrageously good teachers. Students love us. We absolutely rock

Unfortunately, management did their jobs really badly, so now teachers are unemployed (don’t worry - managers get to stay, phew!)

This is how shocked Max was when I told him

I taught that! In Finland. In the 70s. I worked for an institute (teaching adults in business) and wasn't supposed to use any of their language. You should have seen my impression of a cobra (snake) when nothing else worked to get them to understand what it was. On the floor, of course! 🐍⚕️

@rufustheduck Sympathies, last place I worked the directors and senior managers made an arse of it. Of course they remained while a whole section of the company and dozens of us who actually had done our jobs well were all paid off. Fortunately it eventually lead me to a much better job at a place I love, hope similar happens for you, but it's still a kick in bum when this happens
