Am I smart and careful enough to take detailed notes about the ordering of the bass-side reeds so I don't mount them with the circle-of-fourths going in the wrong direction? Of course I am, and I'm insulted you asked.

Am I smart enough to look at those notes before I wax in those bass reeds? I am not.

#accordion

@aaron

please stop. i have so far avoiding getting sucked into squeeze/reed instruments to add to the list of too many instruments i already have, but this is sounding way too intriguing. :D

@paul_ipv6 @aaron @AccordionBruce it’s no accordion, but harmonicas are surprisingly accessible ;)

@ajn142 @aaron @AccordionBruce

get thee behind me, satan. ;)

"first reed instrument is free..."

I have long imagined that the differences between button patterns across borders in Europe might be explained by someone dropping an early #accordion on a mountain pass and simply putting it back together differently on the other side

So they play the bass side upside down in Russia? βœ…

The Belgian bass is upside down and backwards? βœ…βœ…

The Finns have the treble notes one row different from everyone else? βœ…

Shake the reeds up and it explains all the little button boxes πŸ“¦ πŸͺ—

"the nice thing about standards is that there are so many to choose from"
