The Jolla Phone is booting up! As of late last week we got the very first functional samples completed with real mechanics, electronics, the SoC, modem, user-replaceable battery and everything together.

Very quickly from there we organised a two-day hackday in Tampere to pull it all together. Please see our post in the forum with lively pictures! Enjoy ❤️

@jolla For me the biggest highlight of this post is that "The Other Half" is confirmed, with more than enough bandwidth to get a stereo CD quality signal through.

Soo: a headphone-jack accessory seems to be quite doable!

@jolla There used be a lot of associations of Jolla with russia before. It was even considered to be used for government projects, at least there were reports about that. At this point, is there any business connections with russia, or company moved on to the „good side”? Asking, becase this will influence purchasing decision.

@oleksify @jolla Business connections have been severed since the start of Russia's war of aggression on Ukraine. It discontinued business operations in 2022 (having already been winding down since 2021 anyways), sought shareholder restructuring without Russian investors, and Jollyboys Oy took over operations from Jolla in 2023 after courts approved it.
