When I posted the Gilbern Invader estate the other day, @lionelb described it as a ‘Stagitar’ - a portmanteau of (Triumph) Stag and (Reliant) Scimitar. This is the Stag, a stylish convertible with a Targa roof and 3-litre engine made between 1970 and 1978. I saw this one on a visit to the British Motor Museum in 2023.

@davidwilkins

imo, they were better cars when converted to either the Triumph 2.5 PI injection engine or the Rover v8 engine

@davidwilkins @lionelb Lovely car - we had one for a couple of years. Joyous on a sunny day.

@Dolphinchaz @davidwilkins

I had a short trip in a cream convertible. A great memory fifty years later.

@lionelb @davidwilkins Ours was an off-white, possibly Old English White but don't remember exactly as the paintwork was great, never had to touch it up. Needed a bit of engine work though, burned an exhaust valve if I remember correctly.

Damn but that's a lovely thing. At the risk of using a cliché, they really don't make em like that anymore.
@davidwilkins *sweats profusely seeing the space between it and the next car*
