NVDA 2026.1 Beta 3 is now available! This includes:

- Fixed an occasional freeze with SAPI 4 and 32-bit SAPI 5 synths.
- Fixed an issue which would cause NVDA to remain silent if eSpeak NG was set as the default synthesizer and failed to load when NVDA started.
- Updates to translations.

The fix from 2025.3.3 is also in here (actually was in Beta 2)

@NVAccess I'm going to assume it's gonna take a while for the actual release to come? In that case, I have a suggestion. With the trim leading silence in between speech, not only should that have a check box, but maybe some users want to customize the leading silence to trim, so have it be like a slider or something if that's possible?

@mckensie This would definitely be worth a feature request: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues/new?template=02-feature_request.yaml

With the release, yes still a few weeks away, though likely won't add "new" things from here so much as making sure tweaking what is there to make sure it is stable.
