Often, villagers will just call out some swordmen to kill the creature, but the people of this particular hamlet commendably don't want to harm it, just encourage it to forage elsewhere. Thus, they prefer a magical solution.

So, they call me. Crafting the appropriate deterrent requires me to observe the animal for some time. So, there I was, hidden near the woods, waiting for the hedgehog to show. Perfect time to get some writing done.
