Just a sneak peek at the campaign I'm working on. We've had one session, which was really just me finding a somewhat corny bridge between the Arden Vul game we abandoned into the new thing...

Currently working through #City26 to build out the starting location, which I *think* will tide us over for quite some time.

Canopy, and the World Beyond

@TimmyMac

Old school AD&D!! Curious to see how this one plays out for you. I am not sure I have the patience to go back to the old rules at this point, but excited for your game.

Those PC names though... insert the hands-on-hips-scowling-guy meme here.

@starhawk Yeah, those PCs are inheritied from our previous campaign where I had a higher tolerance for wackiness. We went through a B/X phase where dudes were dying left and right, so the names got goofy and it carried over.

In my actual campaign pitch, I'm pretty blunt about future characters not being goofs.I'm not spending hours fleshing out gods, societies, factions and languages for one of my friends to make Poopy Pooppants, you know?

@TimmyMac

Reading the bare bones on your site that's what I was thinking, some dissonance between the tone and the names!

There is definitely a place for goof, I think XCrawl is my go-to game for that...

This is my first time seeing Legend Keeper in use, is it worth it?

@starhawk Totally worth it. I can't imagine running a campaign without it. There's a lot in there that I've hidden from public view (and players until they find it). The permissioning is great, and it's super flexible.

They just rolled out a timeline/calendar system that's great, they have storyboards to help you plot stuff out, interactive maps. It might be my favorite piece of software, period.

Here's a link to the public view of my last big campaign. More stuff in there for you to look at.

The Tales of the Green Dragon Brotherhood

@TimmyMac

I've been muddling about in Obsidian, which is free, but... lots of clunk to get past. This looks really nice. As a visitor I am adoring the mouseover info popups.

@starhawk Yeah, I pay 5 bucks a month for it, and feel like it's a bargain. It's modern, very Obsidian-like, but designed for RPGs from the ground up. Really responsive development team and new features are almost alwyas useful right from jump.

If you want, I have something of a scratchpad campaign I could invite you to as an admin if you want to play around. Just let me know.
