Morning Mastodonians!

I am so looking forward to the #WinterOlympics! It is just a wonderful thing to have playing on the TV while I’m working. I was going to cancel Peacock Plus, but I’ll keep it for one more month to get my complete Olympics fix. Much like the World Cup, I get addicted to having the games on TV. Right now, I have women’s hockey on, but I think I’ll put on the men’s downhill warm-ups as well. That’s an incredible run, over 2 miles long. Let the games begin!

Thankfully, the weather has slightly moderated here in the #Boston metro area, although high temperatures are still several degrees below average. The dogs and I did get our #Walkies in yesterday, and we should be able to again #Today. It’s unbelievable how sore I am after missing a week of walking. Knees, thighs, and calf muscles are all protesting. I would love to go somewhere different for #DateNight. But we will probably end up going to our regular Chinese restaurant. There are worse fates.
I am disappointed in how little I have been #Reading lately. I have a couple of #books going (The Fall of Robespierre and 16 Ways to Defend a Walled City), and both are too good to DNF, but not engrossing enough to put aside all my other distractions. I am listening to Project Hail Mary on #Audiobook. I listen to it when we go for walks, so it’s been a while. It’s excellent, though slow going lately. But not much is left, so we’ll see what happens to Grace.
It has been both frustrating and enlightening in the #SaltMine recently. I have been busy getting some things done, but mostly trying to work around other problems, which is why there's been frustration. I could probably finish this if everything were working as it should. I am going to see if I can tie things up today, and hope some of these problems get fixed soon.

Be safe. Wash your hands. Watch your distance. Wear your N 95 mask. Vaccinate! Boost!

@jdarnold

I can Totally relate on the sore body from not walking as much😒 OUCH!! "Arthur Ritis" is a mean old dude once the bitter cold weather sets in! I walk the rather long halls in my apartment complex as a backup plan, but nothing keeps us #BabyBoomers more limber than kind of brisk walks Outside in the Spring, Summer & early Fall IMO. In the meantime: KEEP MOVING every chance we get☺

@TrueBlue4THREE thanks for the encouragement! I do have an under desk treadmill that I’ve used in the past, but I didn’t this past week. Oddly enough, I feel guilty using it because I’m not taking the dogs out too. And it obviously is no real substitute for walking outside.
