@SeaFury I don't maintain a blog anymore, but I have a website with my interests and whatnot. Does that count?
@bedast I am interested!

A long time ago I did, but couldn't keep it up—I just didn't have enough to say! 🙄

Also, it attracted spam.

@SeaFury Do you have a blog that we can read?

@isaaclyman @SeaFury thanks for your service to humanity, this post is gold http://isaaclyman.com/blog/posts/different/ 🏅
Things I didn't know were different until I saw them next to each other • Minimum Viable Blog

You know how sometimes when you don’t pay enough attention, two similar but not identical things will occupy the same space in your brain? And you’ll go along thinking they’re the same until you’re 30 years old and see them in the same sentence and suddenly realize they’re not the same at all? Maybe you’ve never had this problem. I might not be playing with a full deck. Anyway, here’s a list of all the things I’ve been surprised to find out are different.

@SeaFury I blog about the development of my ebook platform, and books I have coming out. https://nantucketlit.com/blog

@SeaFury I have two!

My art blog, where I do art supply reviews and demonstrations (haven't updated it in a a while): https://artdragon86.wordpress.com/

And my writing blog, where I waffle about my novel-writing progress but occasionally post opinion pieces about academia or technology: https://rebeccajfleming.wordpress.com/

artdragon86

@SeaFury Technically I have a blog, but I'm mainly posting on Mastodon nowadays.

@SeaFury Mine's a bit all over the place: tutorials, project updates, data visualizations, a few short essays. And quite a bit of it is fediverse-related.

@SeaFury Blogs are cool again. And federated now:
https://mangaispolitical.noblogs.org
Manga is political – Manga reviews and analysis

@mangaispolitical @SeaFury so how are blogs federated? do you mean a blog can be "hosted" in the fediverse? can it have css?
@et @SeaFury In my case the blog is created with WordPress and there's an plugin that allows federation:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/activitypub/
With this you can enter @mangaispolitical.noblogs.org in your search bar and the blog works like a mastodon profile.
ActivityPub

Connect your site to the Open Social Web and let millions of users follow, share, and interact with your content from Mastodon, Pixelfed, and more.

WordPress.org

@mangaispolitical @SeaFury @mangaispolitical.noblogs.org @et there are other plugins that when added to the activitypub plugin allows the blog to interact like a genuine Fediverse user: likes, follows, responses. If set up in the theme, all the interactions can show up on the blog.

It's quite wonderful.

@mangaispolitical @et @SeaFury @mangaispolitical.noblogs.org This stopped working for me, and I couldn't figure out why. It used to federate at @dilman
@dilmandila
I can find and follow you here: "@ dilman @ www.dilmandila.com"
@mangaispolitical That is weird. I can't see myself.
Can you see any of the latest posts though? The latest should have come on Dec 26th
@dilmandila From Mastodon I can only see two posts from November 2023.
@mangaispolitical All other posts since then are supposed to appear but for some reason they don't. Also new people can't follow, and any changes I make to the profile on wordpress don't appear here.
@dilmandila Sorry I have no idea why. You could make a new post to find some help hopefully.
@mangaispolitical I will try to reach out to the makers of the plugin

@dilmandila

Could you check that the ActivityPub plugin is still active on your site? You seem to be using the Friends plugin but the ActivityFun plugin itself seems disabled.

You can also post in the plugin’s support forums if that doesn’t help ; we’ll be happy to help!

@[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] This stopped working for me, and I couldn't figure out why. It used to federate at @[email protected]

mograph.social

@mangaispolitical @et @SeaFury @mangaispolitical.noblogs.org one of my Wordpress blogs uses this plug-in, and my salty alt account on the fedi uses a fediverse-first blogging engine.

My other WP blog is too boring to federate (it’s work-related).

My writing site is bradytales.com. The blog posts are on the left, but I should have a button on the top lie that makes all the blog posts in a list taking up the whole page. I'll get to work on that.
@SeaFury yes, but it's very limited so its mostly for people I know RL.
