Bernie, you rascal! You’re spot on here.

inside you there are two elves

one represents the Summer Court: warmth and villainy

the other, the Winter Court: etiquette devoid of empathy

it doesn't matter which one you feed, they exist beyond your ability to curb them, you feeble dying thing

Don't know why I brought it up, really.

So there's a tendency for many of us to give up on evil, because we're no good at being bad. Rather than get ahead in business or politics, we embarrass ourselves if we try.
However if we do choose evil alignment, we're shameless and blatant about it. Objectivism, Satanism, overt racism and of course fascism. So in an era when fascism is practical and less ostracized, perhaps it's not surprising that prominent fascists sometimes come out as autistic.

I was thinking about autism and fascism quite recently. Here is marked e generalizing from myself to other autistics:
Like everyone else, we have free will, and can choose good and evil, both in each choice and as an overall orientation. Yet we differ in that β€œnuanced", not straightforward, and/or situational evil is a challenge. Hypocrisy is too illogical.

A Prescient Comic Strip From the 1920s That Predicts the Inconvenience of 'Pocket Telephones'

A prescient comic strip by W.K. Haselden from 1923 predicted "pocket telephones" and the inconvenient times in which they would ring.

I love this one.

I don't like saying "the problem is capitalism" even though I think I often agree with what I assume people mean when they say this.

Capitalism is this huge concept and to some people it means shopping and lemonade stands, to others it means human slavery and the indentured servitude of debt.

The problem is the imbalance of power, monopolies of control and the systems that enable control. Extreme wealth and the recognition of the legitimacy of that wealth can function in this way.

Boost this toot if you're planning on sticking around Mastodon & the Fediverse whether or not it's more popular than Bluesky.
