Systemic white supremacy is when an utterly incompetent 23-year-old white boy can fabricate an entire story about Somalis and get personal praise from the President—but two seasoned award winning Black journalists who have decades of unassailable reporting behind them get arrested for reporting on an actual protest with facts and receipts.
@QasimRashid Do you think that if the journalists were white they would get praised inatead ?
@ojonnysilva @QasimRashid First ask yourself why you have to pose the hypothetical.
@DrSaucy I did because I believe its about the thing being reported on rather than the skin color of the reporters. I wouldn't be surprised if they got different treatment otherwise, i.e. not being arrested, but making this comparison as proof of "systemic white supremacy" is just wrong. I might be splitting hairs here, but I think its important being precise about these things, report what is for what it is.
@ojonnysilva They arrested four Black journalists. Either there were no white journalists arrested because they chose not to arrest the white journalists or there were no white journalists there. Both point to systemic racial problems & the last thing anyone should do is split hairs over that fact.
@DrSaucy Of you should, when something could either be true or false. Point taken anyway.

#PostOfTheWeek (season 3):
The video, posted by conservative YouTuber Nick Shirley (American YouTuber and content creator), alleged nearly a dozen day care centers in Minnesota that are receiving public funds are not actually providing any service. As of Monday, the video had been viewed more than 1 million times, according to YouTube's metrics, and was seen by tens of millions more on X.
@ojonnysilva
As Homeland Security agents were in Minnesota conducting what DHS Secretary Kristi Noem called a "massive investigation on childcare and other rampant fraud" on Monday, many of their targets came not from tips from the FBI, but from a video posted on social media over the weekend.

@QasimRashid I don't think, in this instance, it has as much to do with racism as it does with the current administration choosing to promote whoever will support their narrative and punish anyone who counters their narrative.

@SomeVeganCheeseIsOk @QasimRashid

And the narrative itself isn’t racist?
#USPol

@Susan60 @QasimRashid course it is. It's manufactured deliberately with racism built in.
@QasimRashid
This is admittedly splitting hairs but I'm pretty sure that's just regular-type white supremacy though.
Systemic white supremacy is more like--just as a hypothetical example--if the nation were shocked and outraged that a white person got shot by cops.
@QasimRashid it's why they hate DEI: without white supremacy and racist hiring practices, most of them would never qualify for anything, ever

@QasimRashid

Well, Trump is a despicable racist that should never have been given the opportunity to be where he is. SCOTUS and the Republican Party made it possible despite the law and prosecution. He belongs in jail... and several members of his administration too for the damage they are doing.

@QasimRashid To prove such a hypothesis, you should use a statistical test - the simplest on is a chi-square test. You set up a table whose rows are labeled "white reporter" and "black reporter" and whose columns are
"praised for reporting what Trump likes",
"arrested for reporting what Trump likes",
"praised for reporting what Trump dislikes", and "arrested for reporting what Trump dislikes". Then you fill in counts.

@QasimRashid uh replies to this asking Qasim to statistical analysis to prove his hypothesis says why systematic racism has benn running rampant for so long. So called "enlightened white liberals" wants mathematical proof that systematic racism exist, but when their cousins, white supremacist tell them "blacks, browns and Muslims" are criminals, rapist & terrorist and must be feared, that's all the proof they need.

@QasimRashid

Wow, Vance looks really old for 23.
