@jolla https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sailfish_OS states the OS is "Proprietary, with open-source components". Is that still true? Which parts are proprietary? are they required?

@untrusted I think the UI elemets of the os is proprietary. But I think it's best if you check the Github repo

@eriksandblom @jolla I have two phones running SailfishOS. C2 and FP4. The Fairphone 4 supports authentication with fingerprint.

@jolla I use the C2 device as my normal phone. But the WLAN/BT-Connection is quite a mess!
Also the XMPP-Stack is very old, still based on telepathy.
This has to be changed!
Yes, I am fed up with Android, I dont want to use it anymore, thats why I am using SailfishOS. It is the best mobile Linux solution.

@jolla I would love to see a self-restriction tool like AndOff for Sailfish. Otherwise, I’ll have to stick with GrapheneOS. Digital well-being is so important these days.
