Today, we remember all the victims murdered during the Holocaust, and we stand with those who survived.

We also mark the 81st anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau.

This dark memory must be passed to future generations.

Never again.

You don't GAF about human rights, international law or genocide.

Ex-Israeli official Daniel Levy criticises European Union for granting Israel ‘impunity’

@EUCommission Never again also means, providing assistance and asylum to those fleeing repression, war, and life-threatening conditions, not letting them drown and putting them in camps ... just sayin'

@lipow @EUCommission

🎯

Which is incompatible not only with the way Frontex conduct their tasks but also the EU's reckless de facto abolition of human rights.

@lipow …and standing up to those (political forces inside Europe and outside, some already in power) who devote all their time and energy to revive this tragic memory. @EUCommission

@lipow @EUCommission

It should mean stepping in to stop the on-going genocide right now, to save the living people who can be saved right now.

All I can think when these memorials and remembrances come around is "Why bother?"

Humanity has shown they have no intention of stopping it from happening again, and again. So why do we bother to remember? May as well do it like China where we all just agree to pretend nothing happened.

@EUCommission
For those who do not want to remember only once a year there is: @auschwitzmuseum

@EUCommission sharing a memory that doesn't inspire action is merely posturing.

EU is currently in violation of international law on this specific topic. Get your act together.

Genocide Watch | genocide prevention

Genocide Watch exists to predict, prevent, stop, and punish genocide and other forms of mass murder. We seek to raise awareness and influence public policy concerning potential and actual genocide. Our purpose is to build an international movement to prevent and stop genocide.

@EUCommission
Never again¹

1. Okay, again but only so long as it happens in non-EU nations like Ukraine, Syria, Israel, etc.

@EUCommission So what is the European Commission's stance on the newly planned concentration camps?

Federal Minister of the Interior Alexander Dobrindt hosts European counterparts at the Munich Migration Meeting

The European officials met to discuss toughening the Common European Asylum System.

Federal Ministry of the Interior
@Ascendor @EUCommission “The aim of the Munich meeting is to forge a coalition of countries willing to create return hubs.” Hubs. Not camps: hubs. Return hubs. For extra ethnic cleansing.

@EUCommission
"Never again" would mean
never again (complicity in) genocide,
never again camps,
never again dehumanising & discrimination.

"never again" means to fight against all those who are committing genocide,
Action against those who are building camps, who are committing war crimes, discriminating or dehumanizing. You are doing the opposite.

Your post is hypocrisy.

@stephie_hamburg Criticizing past events necessitates ZERO action and accountability. Unlike taking action to prevent and stop current events, as specified by International law.
@EUCommission

@stephie_hamburg @EUCommission
!!Oui je suis d'accord plus jamais ça !!

@EUCommission it's the day to apply sanctions on Elon Musk's Twitter / X / xAI / Grok
@EUCommission
You have a very funny definition of never, hypocrites

@EUCommission It would also be nice to return family stuff that is still being held by the camp museum, despite promises of return. They promised for years, but nothing changed and families are still waiting for the return of their loved ones' mementos. How much longer will this take? Museum makes money off someone else's property, regardless of the fact that belongings should return home. It is a shame and disgrace for the Polish government that it does not keep its promises!

@auschwitzmuseum

@EUCommission Wait till you hear about Gaza.
@EUCommission Umm..it's happening again.
@EUCommission
C'est cela oui, plus jamais ça ....
@RocknRoll_Papy @EUCommission This is the only possible and valid comparison: human suffering.
Any other argument to point out differences is merely sophistry and invalid justification.

@EUCommission I love the smell of colonialist hypocrisy in the morning

@EUCommission @sashabilton In the past decades it was OK-ish to remember and to say »never again«.
In 2026 this ist not enough.
@aoe @EUCommission agreed, although I have always done more than just say things, it's never been more important to stand up to fascists, and proto-fascists in this century.
@sashabilton »To do more« – here I address the EUCommission and other political institutions. Today we hear many »concerned« official voices.
Individuals are often more active fighting right-wing and fascist actions.
@EUCommission What made you say 'never again'? See for yourself, the world remains a total mess and it's still spinning.

@EUCommission "Never again, unless they aren't white, or not the right kind of white, or have the wrong religion, then it is open season"

"oh it is happening again? Nah, the perpetrators say it isn't, so it must not be happening?"

"Oh they openly celebrate it? Let's just ignore that and all human rights groups and make it illegal to say it is happening"

- EU Commission & US Government in agreement

@EUCommission In the Netherlands we're slowly approaching 4th of Mei, the yearly memorial of the death. Last year a Neo-fascist member of parliament was allowed to be present at this memorial and in the spotlights. Besides that an activist was not allowed to protest to that anywhere near. Roma and Sinti had their death memorial on another day.

Do we learn from the past ? Do we want to learn ?

If we do not learn from the past why do we keep on having these yearly memorials and these daily photos of Auschwitz memorial on Mastodon boosted by many people ?

Dutch government and Dutch companies are complicit in the ongoing genocide, starvation, torturing and dehumanization of the Palestinian people. But since decades it is economy and profits first in the Netherlands. The Netherlands is by far the top trader number one in Europe when it comes to trading goods with the terrorist state of Israel. The false idea that Israel is the only place safe for Jews is used as a cover to continue profiting, ethnic cleansing, racism and exploitation.

And this is about politicians which ought to represent the people. But do they ? Or do they represent the lobby groups, climate change deniers and the weapon industry ?

Never again is NOW, and that includes Gaza, Westbank, and Sudan #boycott #israel

After long debates and protests by Dutch government and the Lower House finally Dutch government gave in and allowed three (!!!) very sick Palestinian children from Gaza to be taken care of in Dutch hospitals.

It shows where the priorities of this government are.

@regendans In Sweden we are even worse. We allow none, but that is partially because the Nazi-started SD party has to agree to everything, and partially because the government is run by spineless people.
@EUCommission What about "Never again" is unclear when it is about Gaza?
@AngelaScholder @EUCommission "Never Again" only applies to Zionists, the rest of us don't matter as human beings....
@Lazarou Monkey Terror 🚀💙🌈 Zionism is a nationalist movement seeking to create a homeland for the Jewish people on historically Jewish territory. Tell me, why does any other nation have the right to establish its own country, but the Jews have no rights? They aren't human beings?
@EUCommission and never again means never again for everyone.
@EUCommission Holocaust in Palestine!
@EUCommission - Folks in the US need not only look at the past, but no further then at their current situation.
While the scale of deaths nowhere near back then (yet - but one death too many), the rounding up of those being seen as different and blamed for what are actual failures of government, sent to concentration camps with no sign of judicial process…
@EUCommission Uraula Bom der leyen if the Holocaust were happeing today:
"The nazi govement has the right to defend itself from the jews agresion.
The revels inside the Varsovia guetto must be desarmed.
The EU will send in the next month 1kg of rice for the people in Auschwitz, we can't do more"
@EUCommission Hypocrites. You let Gaza happen, and are still enabling it.
@valter @EUCommission "Never again" the nerve.
Ursula should be under arrest and at the #ICC
#gazagenocide‌

@EUCommission "Never Again" is meaningless now while a Genocide happens in Gaza and the nation of Israel dances on their graves, laughing "Never Again! Never Again!"

You're enabling a Genocide by not mentioning this European Commission, we have eyes....we can see....

@EUCommission

All the while fascist and Neo Nazi parties sweep Europe...

@EUCommission

You cannot commemorate the Holocaust without being antifascist.

@EUCommission and tell me, why are you people ok with the mass murder going on in Gaza, in Sudan, in Syria.
@EUCommission
I sure do love when people discuss the Holocaust while avoiding saying the word "Jew."
@EUCommission I'm sorry but this can't be taken seriously with the attitudes towards the documented and acknowledged genocide going on in Gaza right now.
@EUCommission
Maybe you guys have a word with the White House antisemitic folks in the US who are emphasizing that Anne Frank was in Amsterdam legally so we don't try to point out parallels with immigrant raids?
@EUCommission Never again — but sadly, it’s happening again in Ukraine
@EUCommission

You have the power to stop an ongoing genocide in the U.S. right now. Just stop recognizing U.S. copyright and patents: You can deprive the U.S. regime of their cash-flow without lifting a finger.
