Sure, a few dozen troops joined the Danes in Greenland.

But several eastern European nations have elected Putin-aligned rightwing governments. And the UK seems determined to avoid picking a side.

IMO, a schism in Europe is still quite possible.

It is a real problem that the worst people own the major social media sites.

But I don't think any if these protestors are making money on posts. And most of the people resisting/monitoring are on Signal.

But yes, there is a massive community of "independent journalists" who love all this dramatic content. A few are serious journalists, but most use the algorithms to push their narrative.

It sucks that that is a thing, but don't confuse w the protestors.

@randahl It is in the hands of the People. The Justice system is failing and can no longer be relied on. I fear the regime will trigger violence and then things will get infinitely worse for everyone. Resistance and defiance have to be peaceful but a whole lot more active.

@randahl a core ideology of right wing politics is that laws can be applied selectively. It’s bad enough when that’s applied to fraud, theft, drug use or rape, but the USA seems to have broadened that legal guideline to manslaughter or perhaps even murder. It’s not just the president himself that’s above the law, but apparently anyone that is associated with him. This isn’t going to end well. Not for regular Americans and ultimately especially not for current ICE agents and Trump regime leaders.

Alex was legally carrying, had a concealed permit, never reached for his gun, and was shot after being disarmed,
