Playing the “Blade Runner” score in Apple Music on iOS 26 and —— OH GOD WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON

@tvaziri Settings > Apps > Music > Turn off “Animated Art”

It’s a sanity saver. They are almost all bad.

@agiletortoise @tvaziri Huzzah for me not upgrading my iPhone 14 Pro to an AI capable model. Doesn’t exist for me. Woot!
@gedeonm @agiletortoise @tvaziri Once again, as with so many of these "features", I'm forced to ask: who exactly did they think would want this?

@gedeonm you don’t have animated album art as an option? I have a 13 mini test device that it works on, and it even shows the new full screen album art on the lock screen that was added in 26.

@agiletortoise @tvaziri

@victor @agiletortoise @tvaziri Oh I see. I didn’t scroll down far enough in Settings. Yep, it’s there. Turned it off now, thanks!
@gedeonm @agiletortoise @tvaziri Yeah, this is definitely not using local AI, these are record label-submitted animations. Blame the rightsholders for making bad animated art, not Apple for giving artists the option of submitting animated art.
@stillmoms @agiletortoise @tvaziri Then oh yeah, I blame them cause this is bad.
@agiletortoise @tvaziri The only one I’ve seen I actually thought was good was in Moana 2 they gently animate the ocean. Certainly an overall net loss.
@agiletortoise @tvaziri Unrelatedly, when the thumbnail for this image popped up before I realized the context I thought it was another example of how bad liquid glass is.
@agiletortoise oh thank you! thankfully most of the music i listen to doesn’t have this anyway, but when i do see it, it’s almost always done poorly.
@agiletortoise is there an analog for the Spotify app?
