“La maggioranza dei cittadini italiani se parli di separazione delle carriere non sa di cosa stai parlando, ma sa perfettamente, invece, se ad esempio parli del non funzionamento della giustizia vive su di sé questa situazione. Conosco tantissimi familiari di persone morte sul lavoro che scoprono che i processi vanno in prescrizione o sono anni che non vedono una giustizia. Noi dobbiamo essere in grado di parlare e ascoltare con tutte le persone”. Così il segretario della Cgil, Maurizio Landini intervenendo alla presentazione del comitato ‘Società civile per il no’ al referendum sulla giustizia, guidato da Giovanni Bachelet, in corso a Roma.
“Noi siamo di fronte non solo a un attacco esplicito all’indipendenza della magistratura, ma anche di fronte a un disegno politico di questo governo che vuole mettere in discussione l’esistenza stessa della costituzione e della democrazia così come la costituzione l’ha disegnata”, aggiunge ancora Landini, parlando anche dell’importanza di parlare con tutti i cittadini.
“Noi abbiamo bisogno di raggiungere un obiettivo preciso: in Italia ci sono 8000 comuni, se vogliamo davvero affrontare il tema del referendum, in ogni comune ci devono essere comitati, in ogni seggio ci devono essere rappresentanti, insomma serve fare un lavoro organizzativo e capillare. Cominciamo a camminare comune per comune, quartiere per quartiere e territorio per territorio. Parlando con le persone e rendendo evidente quella che è la posta in gioco che abbiamo di fronte e la posta in gioco è il futuro della nostra democrazia”, spiega all’assemblea.
“Il governo ci ha portato a fare un referendum che nessuno gli aveva chiesto di fare per cambiare la giustizia in questo modo e l’ha fatto confermando una volontà autoritaria, mi assumo la responsabilità di quello che sto dicendo, perché una gestione autoritaria del governo in questo paese è già in campo. Lo dimostra il Parlamento che non è stato messo nelle condizioni di discutere una virgola della riforma della giustizia e la stessa cosa l’abbiamo vista sulla legge di bilancio e altro”, conclude il segretario della Cgil.

“We are facing not only an explicit attack on the independence of the judiciary, but also a political design by this government that wants to question the very existence of the constitution and democracy as the constitution has designed it,” Landini added, also speaking about the importance of talking to all citizens.
“We need to achieve a precise objective: there are 8,000 municipalities in Italy; if we really want to address the issue of the referendum, there must be committees in every municipality, representatives in every polling station, in short, we must do organizational and widespread work.” He began walking from municipality to municipality, neighborhood to neighborhood and territory to territory.
