Billionaires usually being proclaimed followers of Christ is so ironic since Jesus preached about giving away all your belongings before joining him.

As someone who was raised by conservative evangelicals but actually read the bible instead of cherry picking from it, Jesus hated the rich and would fuck them up with a whip in a rage.

I left the church because I was tired of the hypocrisy, but I've always said that Yeshua was actually pretty cool and had some really really good and important things to say, and most Christians should probably actually pay attention?? instead of using religion as an excuse for horrible horrible bigotry and violence?? maybe??

@nofunoverlord I spent half my life in religious psychosis and the times I slipped out of it my family would shame me back into psychosis since it was easier to control me in. The entire point of Christianity is to confuse and control.

@grayrattus @trinityblair yeah I say throw the old testament out? most Christians spend more time listening to it (fucking awful? and like.... god did not write those books? people did??), or listening to the letters from Paul than they do actually listening to Christ?

@nofunoverlord there are whole books left out of the current editions of the Bible and a lot of books we don't even know who wrote them. It's a complete mess.

you can't control the masses if there's convincing contradictory information

there's also been malicious translations too. like Mary Magdalene being called a whore/prostitute (derogatory), which was specifically done to remove her power and influence.

the Bible is literally just catholic propaganda. they controlled what's in it long before other Christian religions popped up

pretty sure the life and times of Jesus only made it into the Bible because the Catholics knew they needed to soften up their image if anyone was going to believe they were doing good.

@nofunoverlord yeah thats kind of me xD like this "atheist" but on the other side. I studied this for couple of years already. Like really I spent time studying what the fuck christians, jews and muslims have in common.

And its not only patriarchy. Basically they have the same god in different shades.

For me its all bolocks, man made myths but some people really believe in this. So when you say that "jesus coold dude old testament bad" you kind of twist their faith.

Personally I think bilionaires believe in god as much as they believe in eqality between human beings or concept of "fair wage". They just say they do so noone question status quo.

But yeah. Either way good observation. Jesus was sort of good so would be nice if christians followed his teachings.
