@ancient_catbus The odd thing being that you'd expect Godzilla to be the villain, but oddly enough after levelling Japan for some time, he turned into the good guy in the movies at some point. I think I've seen most of them, some of which were a real chore to watch and I to this date have no idea how the script writers ended up with this transformation.

@clacke I think that's the narrative, but at some point Godzilla just starts to fight the other monsters and it gets really weird. Western audience always had Godzilla as the monster that destroys cities, but at least I didn't come by any explanation why at some point he switched sides. I remember several movies, where the mandatory kid cheers at him and Godzilla waves back.
