@crystalmoon filesystems and drives are designed to survive complete power cutout and don't break
I'd worry more about unsaved data
ReiserFS and a certain breed of Maxtor and WD drives says hi. They can break completely even after a normal shutdown.
Don't ask me how I know.
@bayindirh @mo @alice Git on NTFS, and APFS (Mac Mini).
Both devices always have power... but one brownout is enough.

@alice Same thing kept happening to me so I just glued a stack of washers over the power button.
I need to start my PC with a pen or something now, but it's better than the alternative.
Seeing the "power off" menu randomly show up in the middle of streams nearly gave me a heart attack so many times.
@ExpiredPopsicle heh mine is sitting _on_ the cabinet, which is why I switched to Wake-On-LAN so I only have to really stretch once in a month when this fails 🤪
Found this app "Duorem" on the F-Droid store. It does exactly what I need for this job and nothing else. Can start the PC now while still pouring coffee in the kitchen 🤓

@alice This is exactly why I disabled the the power button shutdown feature from the OS side.
There was a variant of XBox 360 that had capacitive power button. It would turn off or on from just a cat walking past it!
