Ian Kluft ✅✈️🎈🌋I wasn't even trying to go planespotting at the moment. But a look out the window caught a Cathay Pacific 747-8F freighter going by on final approach to PDX. These come in 2-3 times per week, all from LAX. I noticed they file 3 flight plans every time with different flight numbers, but only fly one of them. I'm guessing they use one that best fits the time it took to load the plane. Kinda weird. But Portland has a reputation for weird too. #aviation #avgeek #KPDX #PNW

AI6YR Ben@ikluft Wow, actual dedicated bike path into an airport?!?! We can't even get transit service into LAX. (well... finally... but Uber/Lyft had to break the political stranglehold the limo services had on the airport).
@ai6yr Yeah, the bike path was built with a double-tracking expansion for the Red Line light rail that was finished last year. it definitely helps with access any time I want to do planespotting from the top of the garages facing either runway. Jonathan Maus of BikePortland wrote up an intro when the new south-side path opened last year. The north side already had a bike lane entrance. @ai6yr LAX will more than catch up when the Automated People Mover to the parking garages, rental car center and LAX Transit Center opens next year. Then again, LAX is preparing to host the Olympics. Portland just likes transit and bikes.
