My sister dropped by earlier today and left me a home made Christmas #cake.
I turned the light off in the kitchen and now all I can think is...

What the fuck has #Pingu summoned from the abyss!

I can't work out if I'm impressed at the 80s style cake or the modern cool bit.
@jamesb Or the fact that the tree is probably from the 60s 🙂

Funnily enough we had the same decorations back in the 80s - I think they came from my gran so even older. I came across them in a box earlier. I suspect they will end up being dumped as I consider christmas cake to be torture.
@snaprails @jamesb Well that tree took me back to my childhood - Christmas cakes made by my mum and gran. I wonder if my Dad still has those decorations somewhere... he did have a big clear out a few years ago so it is possible they have gone.
@dan
You can have mine if you want them! Next time I'm down in Cheltenham sorting stuff I was planning on a trip to Bristol anyway. I'm missing the Bag o'Cats.
@snaprails
@jamesb @snaprails That's very kind, although what I am really looking for is the sentimental value :)

@dan @jamesb Funnily enough I found the box with more of Mum’s Xmas cake decorations (from previous years cakes) this morning and gave them back to my sister. Mum always made an iced Xmas cake (usually laced with booze) and often a Yule Log using a Swiss roll and both would be decorated.

Me? I don’t even put up Xmas decorations any more. Roll on January. Bah humbug 😀
