@OccuWorld Imagine what you can do with 100%.
Wtf do incomes over one million exist?!
we imagine more of the damage the wealthy cause directly or indirectly would be offset.
we believe that any reform will be eaten away at by economic abusers, as we see now and in the past.
we do not believe that capitalism or market economy will serve all the people. it has proven itself a failure over and over, harming and killing the populace as well as the planet.
currently we have wealthy people implementing policies that result in death to line a few pockets.
Oh, the horror.
@Walrus @OccuWorld I was there when it passed, I don't even recall the opposition, I'm sure it existed.
Massachusetts shows what a wealthy state can do in all sorts of ways (e.g. first state with universal healthcare access, led by Govnah Mitt Romney of all people).
The US is a wealthy country! We *could* do it everywhere.
You're right, 4% is a pittance.
@oberstenzian @OccuWorld a conservative proposal:
>$1 million: 4%
>$2 million: 40%
>$3 million: 100%
maybe not ideal but good enough (but tbh 4% is ridiculously low)
Massachusetts infrastructure is in great shape. I notice road conditions are worse in neighboring states. Bridges are being evaluated and fixed if they need it. Also, even in the rural parts of our state, people are educated or “woke” ( not a bad thing…)
@OccuWorld Wait, the wealthy didn't flee? Why not??
Republicans really think we're all idiots
@OccuWorld And now Massachusetts is in financial trouble because all the wealthy people fled the state, right?
No?
Hmmm…
