Trying out a fairly simple bit of flossing on the corset. I have a couple of nice pale cotton flosses that are not the most durable things in the world, but pretty.
Maybe I'll go for a more woven design on the double boning channels, or try a pale pink... We'll see.

Pretty much the same, but with different spacing and with the stitches basket weaved. Close to the same shape but a bit more sturdy! And also I figured out how to hide most of the stitches on the reverse, which will also make them more durable.
Doing it felt like I was making such a big shape, but looking at it on the actual corset body they're so small. 😆 But the lengths of thread started feeling a bit wibbly if going farther, and this works, so why not.
I'm starting from the back so if I want to do something more grand on the very front, I'll have more experience with this specific fabric then.

Doing them one by one on either side, mirrored in pairs, so if I want to lose my grip on the toboggan string and go nuts with it, or just change my mind about what I'm doing next, I can... Currently investigating the possibility of making a taller pattern. 😶

Also. This is very very slow, the fabric is so hard to sew through and even a millimetre off is noticeable!

This is gonna take me a lot longer... I'm trying to be pretty precise, but also the fabric is just very thick and dense, and then there's the boning channel tape which is also thick and dense and THEN there are the ends of the bones that I have to work around. I'm trying to use pre-pierced bits aka points in the machine stitching, like in leather working.

It's not terribly complicated, just hard in the way that it takes a lot of effort and strength to do just one bit, and my hands are tiring.

One more of these taller, woven ones... And then I absolutely have to come up with a slightly different design because these will be harder to put on the more slanted bits and I'm kind of bored with doing them! One takes about 15-20 minutes to leisurely do while listening to shows.

Corset is done! I think. It's impossible to take nice photos of it flat when it's this dark and I can't be bothered to take off all my layers to try it on with almost as poor lighting... So, yeah. I'm in the middle of a podcast episode so I might sew on a couple of loops of cotton tape so I can hang the thing on something nicely even though those are not exactly necessary.

Giving the whole thing a final pressing would probably also be good, but I'm tired and it's dark and I don't feel like it right now. 😶

@sinituulia look forward to seeing it finished!
