I just fucked about with my primary boot partion and converted it from mbr to gpt with no backups first. I live on the edge

@Viss Hoo yeah! Did a BIOS update earlier this year ahead of a CPU upgrade. I made sure the skies were clear and the winds were calm (which is asking a lot of weather around Chicago) just to make sure there was as small a chance as possible of a power outage.

And I was STILL on the edge of my seat as the updater ran.

@stefan Hey, it could be worse - it could be entirely offline, at the OEMs discretion, sans USB key, with the only indication of an update being your car working differently when you least expect it

(though I will also note updating PLCs / automotive controllers is more forgiving than one would expect, and *thank christ* for that)
