infosec has a lot to learn about understanding failure conditions and accurate, understandable error messages from roadies
@Viss #AltTxt4You A black equipment trunk with "Coach 1915" and "No Flip" stenciled on its side. It's been turned to rest on the opposite side with its casters dangling, and on the bottom is stenciled "You son of a bitch, it said no flip."
@Viss Does it say, "NO TIP?" No, it in fact does not.
@Viss ... but also I would flip it just to read the message

@Viss another roadie phrase "belts and suspenders are fine, but there's no substitute for pouring glue down your pants."

If you need it to work, make sure that it can't NOT work, and sort out the associated problems AFTER the show.

@Orb2069 @Viss thats insanely read theatre tech is basically fucking around long enough that finding out will only be a problem during strike [when you get to use the fun tools]

@Viss wait... we are allowed to add in swear words in our error messages?

*writes this down for their smb library they forked from another project*

@Viss it lays on its back, belly baking in the hot sun, spinning its wheels trying to turn itself over, but it can’t, not without your help. But you’re not helping…. why is that?
@Tattie @Viss
Midi signals.
Interlinked.

@Viss
You really have to work with amateur stage- and loadinghands to understand how ...*still* well behaved this is. 😬

(Another issue we had increasingly to deal with since the start of the pandemic affected the "eventindustry")

@Viss as ex corporate IT and an ex roadie, I approve of this message!
@Viss Accurate, understandable error messages are a security threat :D
@Viss I had a chemical delivery a few weeks ago, most boxes marked "This Way Up", cos...well...chemicals. One of them, carefully opened That Way Up, had the container inside stored on its side, cos that was how it fitted 🙄
Thankfully a low hazard solid in a well sealed tub.
@Viss
All hail the ingenious, long-suffering roadie!
As I say every time I fix some sound-related thing:
"Bands make it rock, roadies make it roll."
