@infinitefinite I think I've found the solution. Don't have an enclosed shower. We have a glass shower "curtain" on one edge of the bath and the far end is open. It means the rest of the bathroom is warm when you get out of the shower and it's not horrible. Does mean the rest of the bathroom is also super moist and suffers from mould if not cleaned, but worth it :)
Getting out of fully enclosed showers into a colder bathroom, very unpleasant.
so much this.
Also, lets flip it around:
getting into bed: terrible, annoying
being in bed: glorious, amazing
getting out of bed: terrible, annoying
@infinitefinite it's the opposite for me.
Getting in the shower: terrible, annoying.
Being in the shower: uncomfortable.
Getting out of the shower: relieved it's over and feeling clean
@tarrenvane @Kaliah @AutisticInnovator @infinitefinite hey! i have this too, maybe you could look into POTS? (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome)
in that case lowering the temp towards the end and making sure you're very well hydrated can help
@lucie_tronvert @tarrenvane @Kaliah @AutisticInnovator @infinitefinite
Yeah, syncope onset feels like severe nausea for me. I always know when I'm about to pass out because I catch myself looking for something to puke in. Definitely standing for a long time can do this for folks with orthostatic intolerance or POTS, and adding heat to the mix can make it way more severe. Maybe a shower chair is the answer.
@infinitefinite I want a waterproof laptop so I can have my working day without having to leave the shower.
HR might be less impressed by the resultant Zoom calls, though.
I envy people who enjoy the experience of taking a shower and do not find it abhorrent.
I can barely comprehend it. At best the experience of showering is tolerable to me.
