getting into the shower: terrible, annoying

being in the shower: glorious, amazing

getting out of the shower: terrible, annoying

@infinitefinite it's the opposite for me.

Getting in the shower: terrible, annoying.

Being in the shower: uncomfortable.

Getting out of the shower: relieved it's over and feeling clean

@AutisticInnovator @infinitefinite Glad this is not just me.
@Kaliah @AutisticInnovator I'm with @infinitefinite on this one--if only we actually *HAD* a shower! All we have here is a bathtub, and that thing's the bane of my existence, because it's physically tough to get in and out of.
@tarrenvane @AutisticInnovator @infinitefinite My issue with showers are that by the end of them I end up with absolutely brutal nausea, and occasionally a strong feeling of needing to sit/lay down urgently, not sure what to call that. Showers wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to rest and get through that for 15 minutes every time after taking one. I have no idea if it's the heat, the noise, or something else linked to showers, but it's a very unfortunate side effect.
@Kaliah @AutisticInnovator @infinitefinite Hmmm, maybe you could try cutting down on the heat and see if that helps?

@tarrenvane @Kaliah @AutisticInnovator @infinitefinite hey! i have this too, maybe you could look into POTS? (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome)

in that case lowering the temp towards the end and making sure you're very well hydrated can help

@lucie_tronvert @tarrenvane @Kaliah @AutisticInnovator @infinitefinite you can also get a shower chair, showering while sitting is easier and reduce POTS symptoms

@lucie_tronvert @tarrenvane @Kaliah @AutisticInnovator @infinitefinite

Yeah, syncope onset feels like severe nausea for me. I always know when I'm about to pass out because I catch myself looking for something to puke in. Definitely standing for a long time can do this for folks with orthostatic intolerance or POTS, and adding heat to the mix can make it way more severe. Maybe a shower chair is the answer.
