@art_of_goulwenr I honestly can relate a bit because in my teens I made sort of collages not from pieces of Fotos or other stuff I used tiny hand drawn patterns. Like people often scribble in their notes while they should listen to a topic an pay attention to the speaker, that said I found it meditational. I also love architecture and small details that remain from the construction.
Something I also love in worldbuilding... So I guess I can relate even if I would not full hearted agree with you ore Erie.😅
But indeed it's a good thing you can copy and paste and resize it as you see fit. Shame that London didn't build the other side of the building as a mirror image. Silly Brits no heart for hard working artists while building historical cities. 😬
@art_of_goulwenr do you know about the artist who draws New York from the birds eye perspective by hand an from memory?
I think he is neurodivergent if my memory serves right and as far as I remember he draws with ink on a wall or something like that.
I always find it fascinating how far printing and digital writing/painting has brought us today. I still deeply respect traditional writing, painting and printing. Thanks to my ground school we made excursions to a museum in which we could set traditional printing texts by our own and reading mirror text is quite hard to spot mistakes before you print it. Also setting the letters is quite taxing for the neck and shoulders, same goes for forms of pictures printing, like vinyl prints.
I also love scratching pictures. It's another art that sadly has become very rare this days. But this removal of paint on a silver surface to reveal a picture in the end by scrapping it of with a knife is also very relaxing and can be tricky.😅

I suppose monks that copied the Bible and others books (with many detailed illustrations) knew such transe as well, especially as they work with a flame as light source: imagine writing all day long in Gothic with a dancing light. (We visited once the replica of the Lascaux cave and it was wonderful to see the paintings animate when the light was dancing like if it was a torch)

It might have been like that for monks.
I imagine the reveal of such Art that lives through shadow and light in a room to be quite beautiful and kinda breathtaking.
I only know digital variables of this from some RPG games or movies and that is always something I appreciate but to be in a room with a wall filling piece, hidden partly by shadows and revealing more with the movement of the light, is surely way more impressive.
