@KellyJu

Hey Kelly, that is the stern of the ship Galilee. I didn’t know previous to your post but it looks like you were right, we do learn something new every day.🙂 Thank you for sharing it! I love reading about history, especially from the places I’ve lived.

Galilee - Weird California

The Galilee is a wooden ship whose stern lies at Fort Mason, but the rest of it lies elsewhere.

Weird California
@Monkey_Nation Woah that’s so cool! Just a giant piece of a boat randomly hanging out at Fort Mason haha
@KellyJu - I know, right? It’s crazy there are pieces in Benicia & Sausalito as well. I saw a pic you posted in Sausalito a while back. I’ve got a pic from that same spot but can’t find it. I had an ice cream at the cafe there and walked over to that same spot. Crazy😁
@Monkey_Nation So the entire bay area just has random boat pieces everywhere haha
@KellyJu It is crazy 😆

At first I thought that stern was like some kind of old camper but then it started looking like parts of an ancient ship. Weird they separated it like that all around the Bay though. Wonder why it wasn’t kept together.

You probably know but Otis Redding wrote (Sittin’ on) The Dock of the Bay on a houseboat at Waldo Point Harbor in Sausalito. Beautiful area 😊
@Monkey_Nation It’s like a scavenger hunt to find all the pieces in the Bay.

There’s so much history in the bay.

I gotta give that song a listen!
@KellyJu It is like a scavenger hunt 😂

Definitely tons of history in the Bay Area.

Yeah, give it a listen. Very soulful voice. Relaxing.
