Of course other clients have done this sort of thing since forever, but Tapestry isn't really a typical "client" app because it's not targeting a single service.
Not too many apps let you put RSS, Bluesky, Mastodon, Tumblr, Micro.blog, Reddit (and more) posts all in the same chronological timeline let alone support some of the underlying service's native actions like fav, boost, bookmarking, etc.
Tapestry is also extensible - you can even write your own connectors for different services.
@larand @bigzaphod Not being able to reply without needing to switch to another app, is definitely a show stopper for me.
I get confused where I am in a message thread and end up missing messages.
Definitely looking forward to this being a feature soon though. 😁
@bigzaphod quick notes would be:
- would like full bleed UI, the inset “cards” feel like a waste of space
- too much color for me; don’t want the big stripe on the left, just want white/black background (light/dark mode)
- plain circles for avatars
- system font (I know I can fix this one)
Sadly, a lot of the things that give the app personality. But when reading content, that’s not really what I want from an app.
