Hmm… #FilmPhotography really isn't cheap. 🤔
If I bought a medium format camera*, I could burn all those monies a lot quicker – efficiency! 🤪

This camera was given to me; I didn't buy it. This is something totally different! 😅
I gave the ground glass, Fresnel lens, and mirror a quick initial cleaning. Considering that the viewing lens hasn't been cleaned yet, that's already a pretty decent interim result, imho. 🙂
The fruits of yesterday's project: a new "glass" for the lightmeter of my #YashicaMatLM. 🙂
It had already been missing when I got the camera. And since lightmeter glasses for 63-year-old cameras are surprisingly hard to come by, I decided to try and produce my own replacement part, which – of course – involved #FreeCAD and #3dPrinting. 😄 ("Details" in the following post.)
It's not perfect yet, but already a lot better than a missing one!
I designed a die and punch in #FreeCAD and 3D-printed them using the material with the highest temperature resistance available on the filament shelf.
I then cut the clear window part of an old CD case into smaller pieces. I heated them one by one in the oven @ ~130°C and pressed them into the die using the punch.
After a little bit of trimming (using a 3D-printed saw guide) and sanding, another point is checked off the to-do list. 😄
