A little cheaper than Spotify. Sound quality is better and I have not found a song that was not available on tidal. Podcasts is something Spotify seems to be better.

I switched to Tidal for music and AntennaPod for podcasts and have been pretty happy.
I selfhosted something to sync progress across devices (gPodder), which might be more than non techy folks want to mess with.

I think you'd have to use the chromecast functionality of the Google home device to play audio from it, but I don't own any, so don't know for sure.

I use Tidal, but they've recently updated their Terms & Conditions. Taking effect on Nov 5th (I think) they're bringing AI into the mix. I'm keeping an eye out for other options myself because of that update. Just a heads up.

I used a 3rd party tool that was recommended by Tidal to migrate to Tidal. It was paid over a certain number of tracks, but was a smooth experience. I believe they support other sources/destinations as well.

(there's just a tiny issue with credits, tho - even the playlists I didn't curated, but only followed, came as "mine" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

You also can buy music directly on there. Additionally, they pay the artists a fair (the highest?) rate.

kapierstau @marioguzman I may want to add: If you're into Podcasts published over there (exclusive or not), look for and promote open architectures and standards (like RSS) among creators and listeners. Better do not make the mistake leaving one closed, but shiny corporate platform for another.
