Uh oh. In borderline meltdown mode thanks to... recent events, and the metal band next door is rehearsing with the windows open.

Abnormally warm temperatures are producing some seriously weird consequences.

Band practice seems to be done. Exhale.

It’s pretty wild when you reflect on an entire lifetime of being noise-sensitive and finally realize it’s because of a #neurodivergent brain. Would it have been easier to cope when I lived in an apartment if I’d been aware? I’ll never know.

What I do know is that I do not do well in captivity aka a city πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ And have better insights as to why that is.

@StaceyCornelius
As someone who didn't know how good ANC headphones and ear plugs were, before he found out. Because I basically didn't use them. I have to say that yes, living in an apartment is so much easier now. However, I did know enough about myself, to never even try and live in a city. I don't even like visiting them.
@pathfinder I enjoy visiting, depending on the city. Border collie brain. Bulldog brain needs nature and quiet. #AuDHD
@StaceyCornelius
I call my ADHD side, Sir squirrel brain, but even he doesn't like visiting. I like border collie brain, having had a couple as pets/friends, very apt. πŸ˜†

@pathfinder I had a border collie/Lab mix, which is the origin. Still kind of on the fence about "bulldog" but so far it's the best I can come up with.

I also use Goldilocks brain, which is clear concept-wise, but far too tidy for what actually goes on inside my head. 😁 It's more like the two dogs who have each grabbed opposite ends of the same stick.

@StaceyCornelius
I think mine are more balanced, somehow. Sir squirrel brain and Sir rational, seem to know how to play well together, for some reason.
Having never owned ( and I hate that phrase) a bulldog, I can't help you with that one. They've always struck me as very laid back, though.
