Bike thefts at stations 'decriminalised'

The British Transport Police will not investigate many categories of bicycle theft, the BBC learns.

@afewbugs Ridiculous. They say they want people to use an environmental form of travel, and then they won't protect your vehicle (car or bike) if left parked at the station. Anyone commuting to work is going to leave a vehicle at the station for more than 2 hours.
@UkeleleEric @afewbugs Whats also worrying is BTP aren't even complaining to the media that they lack resources/funding - which suggests they have given up even lobbying for it *and* they they are overwhelmed with other crimes such as hate crime (which has shot through the roof on the Elizabeth Line, in spite (or because?) of it going through one of the most multicultural areas of London and SE England) , robberies and other actual violence (which I can well believe is genuinely the case)
