Ahh better!
@stux now if you proceed to look down, you will cut off blood circulation to your brain
@snow @stux yes, don't do this! It's not as sensible as it looks...
@JSAMcFarlane @snow  I wouldn't know where to begin!
@stux @snow definitely seek expert advice, ideally someone with both surgical and CAT6 experience
@stux This one made me choke on my drink! 😹
@catsalad @stux You wouldn't choke if your trachea and oesophagus were neatly dressed.
@stux you should have used Velcro not zip ties.
At least if you want a chance to rewire one day.
@stux Came for the Velcro comment 😂🫡

@stux

Reminds me of two of my coworkers and each of their approaches to rack wiring 🙂

@stux Your body is not a wonderland, it´s just a mess.
Cable management is always important
@stux The skull is the data center of the bodynet.
@stux my back feels like it's got cable ties in it lately.
@stux missing a sign on the remaining load-bearing cats' cradle (aortic arch, right subclavian artery, both recurrent laryngeal nerves) labelled "Do not disconnect for *any* reason, tidy boy"
@stux Did you label those? DID YOU?
@stux

Well it seemed like a good idea at the time.
@stux haha!! Very good share.
@stux I guess my cable management just sucks and I don't actually need the osteopath. Thanks! 😂
@stux I sure hope that empty hose labelled "trachea" wasn't important
@stux Nobody yet mentioned the "single point of failure"? 😉
@stux I got really satisfied for about three seconds, and then did a double take immediately after
@stux I hate it when my cables get kinked
@stux
Virus: When was the highway built?
@stux BAD kitty! Tsst tsst tsst!
@stux @romix Nice explanation of a rigid system vs a system with a lot of movement possibility😄
@stux
Aaaaaaaahhh..... rrgh..
@stux As an aerospace engineer I agree that it’s better but still not good enough. To satisfy safety regulations, you need to separate the routes of different type and ensure proper segregation between them to avoid any cross talk between routes.
@stux
That made me laugh.
And while the right side is aesthetically pleasing, looking at it caused my back and neck to twitch.
@stux When I had sciatica I discovered the confused tangle of the sciatic nerve. Intelligent design? Hardly.
@DaveHenniker @stux I was taught that common sciatica is often because of the anatomical variations among the population. The sciatic nerve can go above, below, or through the periformis (butt muscle that lets your put your feet out in ballet's 5th position). When it goes _through_ the muscle, then it can pinch that nerve affecting it's afferentation. So a "tight white ass" syndrome often causes sciatica. YMMV.

@mvilain @stux

A compression fracture to my spine following a fall at the ice rink did it in 2011. Injections and TENS helped for a whIle but eventually it cured itself.

@DaveHenniker @stux The other explanation is "fall down...go boom" or an MVA where you're the less massive MV
@stux looks pretty rigid. maybe an external cable chain?

@stux Ich bevorzuge ja Klettbänder.

(one coffee and facepalm later)

I prefer velcro, but well.

@stux factorio player gets his hands on you

@stux

Left: Normal Human
Right: Factorio player

@stux I can't put into words how much it annoys me that the cables are not put inside the rib cage or along the spine but in front of the right chest.

@stux @Merovius I saw the user and assumed a meme photo, and wondered why a fantastic network cleanup was posted.

Then I saw the skeleton. Yeah, now it makes sense.

@stux

On point.

I'm scheduled for carpal tunnel surgery soon, because of the current kludgy mess.

@stux

So meins! Beste einfach! 😁🤗
@stux
I think there are limits to what you should organize neatly 🤔
@stux I wonder how many sysadmins have enough spare time to think about things other than the datacenter(s) they're managing.
