Excited to announce that the @EUCommission has updated it's follow buttons on the website footer!
What's that first platform there? Could that be #Mastodon?
And where did the link to #X go?
All the posts and comments here on Mastodon calling for this, trust me we read them!

Did you know...

that Tom, aside from his development experience, also has experience as product owner, tech lead, team lead, developer coach and interim engineering manager? So while he can help you with development, he can also do a lot more than just write code.

Interested in adding Tom to your team? Get in touch: [email protected]. Tom is ready for a new challenge, and he might just be able to help you solve yours.

😧

"Leave politics at home" is the absolutely tone-deaf of "Things are fine for me, why won't you shut up" that only someone who benefits from The Way Things Are can say. To be apolitical is to condone the worst actions through inaction. There is no such thing as noble neutrality, only sociopaths and useful idiots.

I hesitate to trust anything from anyone who says that because it shows their value system doesn't include caring for anyone but themselves.

sounds like the web is about to get a lot more annoying to use for #grapheneos users and others using #android devices with """compromised integrity""", people without smartphones, people using smartphones with other operating systems, etc.: https://support.google.com/recaptcha/answer/16609652

google's new "mobile reCAPTCHA verification" will require you to scan a QR code from either an iOS device with the reCAPTCHA app or an android device with up-to-date google play services.

EDIT: this is part of google's new "fraud defense" system, and is (seemingly) intended to be used for more "important" things like purchases rather than just e.g. comment sections. however, there's nothing stopping site owners from using this thing everywhere

Don't miss this next exciting event!

Open infrastructure isn't free. 🌱

Packagist/Composer signed a joint
OpenSSF letter with PyPI, crates, Maven, CPAN, etc on real cost of running package registries.

Packagist needs to finance staff, not just hardware and bandwidth. Contact me if your company's interested in joining our sponsorship program for its launch this month while we work on long term solutions.

4Gb was my monthly mobile data plan when I lived in Germany 🙄 #chrome #slop

here I've been combing for old documents and stuff to free up disk space on my laptop, when all I need to do is do a little file system surgery to make sure Chrome will not be able to successfully redownload this *four and a half gigabyte* local model when it notices I somehow "accidentally" deleted it (replaced with 0-byte read only locked file, parent folder set to read only and locked, grandparent folder set to read only and locked)

Open source does not sustain itself, and PHP is no exception. This issue looks at the work behind the work: funding maintainers, simplifying licenses, and turning private experience into shared knowledge for the community.
