Atlanta based Lunar Vacation plays a kind of indie rock that builds on their strong sense of melody and a combination of elements that are arranged in subtle and balanced ways such that none of them takes over the whole sound and pigeonhole them. Their songs mix dream pop style vocals with a typically kinder and gentler form of alt-rock underneath, with an occasional side glimpse towards shoegaze on the guitars. They tap into the same type of well that bands like Alvvays have. Vocalist Gep Repasky's bright and inviting voice is one of the standouts in their music, along with the band's ability to turn up imaginative arrangements that refuse to fall into clichés and their firm grip on the catchiness dial, which they turn up and down in waves, judiciously.
