I'm just running my own #Mastodon instance here, so I don't have a ton of reach.

I'd love it if any of you who are willing would boost/quote this post.

My current SRE role is coming to an end, and the current market is scary.

The most current project was getting 3 line-of-business applications (for a national retailer!) moved to AWS, with some infra design, and lots of Terraform and Ansible.

I've got some Python chops, too.

I'm looking for a new role, remote preferred, or local to the PDX area.

I'd love to get #FediHired

#Portland #PDX

@pdxmisfit I'm also on a solo instance, so don't have much reach either. But, I figure every boost is worthwhile. Good luck with your search!
@pdxmisfit I've worked directly with Aaron in the past, and found him to be thorough, creative, proactive, customer-focused, skillful, and quick to grok new tools and concepts. Snap him up while you can!
@tychotithonus Thanks man! I need all the help I can get!

@pdxmisfit

Hint: since your in PDX, you can increase reach to #Portland #PDX 😁 my hood is #StJohns

Hashtags are incredible.

@pdxmisfit I’ve not looked at the boards, but check Alkami Tech, based in Dallas. Already past ipo, vulture capital gone, solid sre pipeline. (I know the sre staff engineer, so if you see anything, ping me and I’ll let him know to look for your resume.) They’re almost entirely remote, 100% for engineers, pay scale kinda reflects that, it’s not San Fran salaries, but well within market standards. Nice bennies too.
@pdxmisfit Look over https://about.gitlab.com/jobs just in case there is a fit. All-remote, so that's a huge plus.

@simplenomad
I have no connections at Gitlab, but having worked with them in the past I will second this. Back when I was a Gitlab admin, I was tasked with evaluating how their company worked. I interviewed a number of their people and was very pleasantly surprised at how well an all remote company like their could work.

@pdxmisfit

@pdxmisfit I can't speak to the competitiveness of salaries, but I love working here. The people are great, with extremely low turnover in IT. They aren't afraid of spending money on tools or software that you need, leadership is approachable, and hiring/promoting internally is a big thing.

We've been building our infra and devops groups, so worth looking into. Remote friendly, and we have multiple offices in and around PDX if you ever want to go into an office.

@mitchkiah Of the positions I saw listed, I didn't qualify for any of them, or they weren't quite what I'm looking for. But thank you for the info!
@pdxmisfit
I know honeycomb.io is hiring and seems a nice place to work

@pdxmisfit From my recent experience, I would recommend getting your CV professionally rewritten. Find a reputable company that will work with you to get it right. I used Purple CV but I don't know if they're in the States - I'm UK based. It was a game changer for me. Best of luck in your search. 🤞🍀

Welcome to the Fediverse! You are only reachable on the legacy Internet! You may want to look into this.

@pdxmisfit Retweeted because you listed your location and LinkedIn, so few job searchers here do.
