If our little guy ends up somewhere on the spectrum, I’m sure it will be all the Tylenol I took during my pregnancy, and not the fact that both of his parents have ham radio licenses 🤪
@leigh I see you subscribe to my "the nerds are breeding" theory. Going to autism support group meetings, and as each parent introduced themselves, it's clear that "Engineer" in the job title is a huge contributing factor.
@leigh My first manager had a ham radio in his car, and a Morse code key attached to the steering wheel. It could be worse

@leigh @the_other_jon So, um, there are accessories to strap a key to your thigh for this kind of thing and some keys explicitly designed for that.

I should probably be concerned that I know this.

@leigh Damn I'm glad I wasn't drinking coffee when I read this.
@leigh I feel like, if both parents have one, the child should be issued one automatically at, like, 13 or so 😁
@leigh Tylenol, but it turns out it’s activated by proximity to RF. Or to people thinking about RF.
@rmd1023 @leigh this is what “on the spectrum” is referring to.
@leigh I am not sure if the spectrum and radio connection was intentional as joke, but I approve of joke even if unintentional.
@leigh
Why do you not find Tylenol in the Jungle?
Cos the parrots eat 'em all.
@leigh laughing because the ham equipment itself was clearly not the only thing I inherited from my VoA radio technician grandpa.
@leigh are the radios running a Linux distro🤔?
@leigh both surprising and obvious that ham radio licenses are inherited
