@tessarakt @CodieneC I am glad you mentioned DNS and the country code top level domains (ccTLD).

Many of those ccTLD domains are under the control of those countries, but many other countries have licensed control to businesses. The integrity of the contents of those ccTLD based names is subject to many forces, economic and political. (It is kinda ironic that the US gov't is using a ccTLD in Montenegro for its ID.me system for us to use US government websites.)

In addition, now that Google, Cloudfare, Comcast, etc etc are offering resolver services (e.g. 8.8.8.8) those companies can not deeply play games. I wrote a note about that nearly 20 years ago...
