Thousands queue as doors open at revamped Wellington Library after seven years - Lemmy NZ

> Thousands queued up outside the Wellington Central Library Te Matapihi ki te Ao Nui on Saturday as it reopened for the first time in seven years. > > The building had been closed since March 2019, due to earthquake risk, with pop-up libraries in the city in the interim, while it underwent a $217 million makeover.

Sigh.

New boss: “You’re good at writing notes.”

Me: “Thank you, it helps me to remember so I have been writing summaries for many years.”

New boss: “You should try CoPilot and see what it can do.”

Me: “Well I enjoy summarizing my notes, and it helps me to learn and remember.”

New boss: “Let me show you something I did in CoPilot.”

Ugh. Writing it myself helps me LEARN and REMEMBER. Why are these AI zombies so intent on changing a process that is helpful to me? Feeding notes through CoPilot won’t benefit me when it’s the act of writing that works for me.

I have written a simple HTTP example for pi pico 2 w

Most of the examples on the internet are broken, wrong, limited, overly complex.

I have just learned a woman on the Maori electoral roll checked her details overnight and found she was registered as living in a place a long way from where she actually lives.

This news caused one of the people I live with to check their status. They have been dropped off the roll entirely which is incredible given she voted in the last election and has not moved premises since. Check your enrolment status, folk! https://enrol. vote.

Very disappointed to see that the Education & Workforce Select Committee has recommended banning people under 16 from using social media websites such as Facebook, Instagream, Snapchat, TikTok, X and more.

While there is work to be done to improve internet safety for everyone, we believe that people under 16 also have a right to freedom of expression and association - social media is where a lot of political education, activism and organising gets done.
