This single-step Apple Shortcut is a GAME CHANGER. No more going to Settings -> Apps -> and then finding the app.

Just swipe from Control Center, run the shortcut, and you’re automatically redirected!

Step 1: install shortcut

Step 2: “Add a control” in Control Center, “Run Shortcut,” and select the newly installed shortcut

Step 3: Profit!

@snazzyq Cool!

Weirdly, mine didn’t work (opened the top-level App Settings) until I opened it in Shortcuts and changed the icon. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But it works now!

@snazzyq Awesome! Thank you for sharing!
@snazzyq thank you sir, this is brilliant and very helpful.

@snazzyq
Brilliant, thank you. If it’s any help to anyone I’ve add a tweak to make it work in the camera app too

Shortcuts

@snazzyq when I’m adding the run shortcut action to control center it doesn’t prompt me which shortcut to use. Can’t find a way to assign one afterwards either. Am I missing something?
@snazzyq Oooo, that’s handy 👍🏼 Thanks!
@snazzyq Thank you so much for
@snazzyq It’s a shame there’s usually nothing useful in these setting for most apps.

@snazzyq Brilliant!

Also, lukewarm take: I hate that they’ve buried so many core OS app settings (Phone, Mail, Safari, etc) with all the rest. I get why they did it, under antitrust pressure etc, but it is maddening.

@snazzyq This is awesome! Thank you so much!
@kowantures Ist nett. Einzige Frage: Wie oft muss man dorthin ;)

@snazzyq Been using this to toggle Wifi Hotspot on my iPhone. When configured with side button, it is single press toggle rather than fiddling with multiple taps.
@snazzyq This is fantastic, thank you.
@snazzyq I like this a lot! I have Control Centre activated with a double back tap, making it a very handy gesture.
@snazzyq The iPhone 17 Pro Max is my first iPhone (though I’ve already been using an iPad Mini), and Apple’s insistence on burying every menu at the system level rather than the OS level is definitely my biggest annoyance about iOS/iPadOS compared to Android. Thank you so much, this is the closest thing I’ve seen so far to fixing that
@snazzyq it works well on my phone, but seems to fail on iPad. Shortcuts settings are the same on both, but it seems like maybe iPad OS doesn’t handle app settings in quite the same way.

@snazzyq I’ve made a more complex one but with some nice extras. The #shortcut is in Spanish but it should be easy to understand:
https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/eca58c94de8248f4ba59bfcaa6610f10

I have added warnings where it doesn’t work:
- Home Screen
- Lock Screen
- Web app
- Settings and Home apps
as well as a special case for the Camera app.

I would appreciate it if anyone lets me know of any other place where it doesn’t work 🙂

P.S. To help the latter, the ID of the app from which it was executed is copied to the clipboard.

What’s new in version 1.0.3 (2025-09-24)

- Fixed an import issue in #iOS 18
- Improved alert messages
- Prevents the #shortcut from ending with the Safari icon

@snazzyq thanks for this. Just spent an hour or so swapping between iCloud and Books settings on an iPhone and an iPad to figure out why my wife’s Books content wasn’t syncing. Still don’t know why but hair-pulling would have been lessened.
