We are launching a new campaign!

💻 Digital Revolutionary Infrastructures (Very Encrypted) aka DRI(VE)

🚨 We are facing increasing tracking and censorship in corporate social media platforms and digital tools.

⚠️ The techbros broligarchy have turned their apps against us. Their platforms are meddling in political affairs, profiling people, causing a psychogenic epidemic, and eating our resources.

#BreakDigitalFeudalism

⛓️‍💥The introduction of AI has worsened the situation. AI chatbots are the main source of information for many people and they reportedly spread their own version of truth. Example: Grok insists there is a white genocide happening in South Africa.

❓How can we oppose technofeudalism?
This SR series will bring forward tools and workflows towards more ethical and emancipated digital choices, that help us transition AWAY from BIG TECH MONOPOLIES.

Let’s give less power to tech giants! ✊

#BreakDigitalFeudalism

@ScientistRebellion AI is only as good as it’s training. If you were going to disseminate propaganda via AI the first task would to get people believing it and addicted. For that you’d make the first iterations truthful and free. Once you’ve captured the minds …

@ScientistRebellion

This is good news.
We’d like to point to our campaign starting last year
https://openpetition.de/Unis4Mastodon
during which we tried to convince universities to stopp posting on X and make use of #Mastodon instead. Also other #Fediverse services like #PeerTube and #Pixelfed were recommended, since they have a decentral structure and act as true #socialmedia.

In combination with other campaigns like #byebyeelon, #WissXit, #SaveSocial, #QuitX and others it has been achieved that 170+ German universities and research institutions become active on Mastodon
https://mastodon-listen.playground.54gradsoftware.de/?liste=institute-DE
as even a growing number of scientific societies
https://mastodon-listen.playground.54gradsoftware.de/?liste=fachgesellschaften-DE
We simply aim at transforming #SciComm on social media into the Fediverse. This would represent a kind of substantial change as actually required.

We would welcome, if we could combine our forces (you may also answer to [email protected] ).

Open letter to the German Rectors' Conference (HRK) on the use of social media - Online petition

We call on universities and other higher education institutions in Germany to shut down their accounts on X (formerly Twitter) as soon as possible. Their presence on X/Twitter is incompatible with the universities' remit to provide information because disinformation and political smear campaigns are condoned there. At the same time, a presence should be established on Mastodon (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mastodon_(Software)) and other Fediverse (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fediverse) server
