Random but has anyone tried period panties? Are they any good? (what do I tag this with?) #menstration

@PickPoppies I have and I don't like them that much because the impermeable layer leads to my skin being unhappy. I have swapped to reusable/washable pads and a silicone period cup.

I've also started sewing my own pads and I've been able to customize them for the way my body channels period blood.

@otherryn I want something extra for a heavy day. I like my cup but on those days... Not a 100%
@PickPoppies gotcha. I think a reusable pad or liner would probably give you enough coverage without also giving you swamp butt like the underwear might.
@otherryn I'll look over the options. Thanks
@PickPoppies I love mine, combined with a cup.
@venite That's what I was thinking to do. What brand do you use?
@PickPoppies my favourites are (checks hamper) Chantelle, they don’t pinch anywhere. They’re pretty big but I found I needed that because I’m a belly sleeper. If not you might be fine with a lower model? I got 7 of them a few years ago and that was an investment, but it’s all I need!
@venite Thank you, I'll look into it
@PickPoppies yes and I like them. I use a cup during the day on heavy days but use just period pants overnight and on lighter days. They're very easy to rinse out in the shower, and then I just put them in the washing machine. However I do find they lose their absorbency after 2-3 years and am a bit worried that might be because I'm not hand washing them in cold water as suggested
@afewbugs but two years is pretty good, sounds great for the economy and environment
